Troubled Monk poured their first pint in Red Deer in 2015.
Since then, they’ve remained focused on their community, and consider giving back to be rewarding! They believe being a positive team in a positive community makes us all greater than the sum of our parts. Every year, Troubled Monk participates in a brew for International Women’s Day. Partnering with the Pink Boots Society, they work together to make a beer supporting women the brewing industry.
At the beginning of the pandemic, they switched their brewing operation to include hand sanitizer, and have since donated huge amounts to frontline workers and essential services.
And every team member has a say in how they amplify the community!
Each month, one employee is chosen at random and allowed to choose a non-profit organization for Troubled Monk to donate to. Troubled Monk is a team effort, from the servers in the tap room, to the brewers in the back! It’s not just a collection of people passively working at the job they’ve been given. Troubled Monk is a group of individuals who are great at what they do; coming together over a common goal focused on community. They want to inspire others through their craft!!
